4 Options You Can Negotiate When Buying New Construction Real Estate

These are just some of the options and upgrades you may want your realtor to talk to your chosen manufacturer: Floors – The "standard" floor is cheap thin carpet and padding. If you go for wood floors, you can not get what you think. An important thing to remember is that most manufacturers make their money on improvements and options. While updates can offer high quality flooring, it can actually be cheaper for you to buy yourself, not by the manufacturer. Do your research and either your real estate agent to try to negotiate a price closer to what it would cost you or the builder to use the cheapest material possible and ask that no glue or tack down. Plumbing & Accessories – Whether you want to improve or plumbing and additional accessories (as for a bar or a different location for the washer and dryer), these are easier to do before the actual mass of Houston is over. Appliances – Check to see what brand and model builder hopes to use for their devices. Most times, your real estate agent can at least negotiate a better model, if not their preferred brand. Doors – doors, interior doors, especially, tend to be thin, non-isolated and easily damaged. Although this may be good in some areas, other areas may need better doors. This is a definite place for your real estate agent and builder to negotiate.
